The Freemasons Arms is located in the town center, inbetween the
indoor and
outdoor markets. The building itself is Grade2 listed. The pub was
taken
over recently (3 months ago at the time of writing), and was refurbished.
Turn left as you enter the pub and you will find a "tap"
room. Stone
floored, this room has a television which can be used to view most
Football
matches, should you so desire. Turning right as you enter the pub
will take
you through to the main bar and to the restaurant. The bar is well
furnished
and very.... well... ahem(!)... RED! The Freemasons Arms boasts
one of the
largest collections of REAL ALE in Knutsford. Theakstons, Bass and
Worthingtons Bitter are normally always kept, however, I have it
on good
authority that the Landlord is keen to supply different ones from
time to
time. I have tasted all the beers and can verify that they are kept
to the
highest of standards.
Continue through the bar and you will find a room which acts as
the
restaurant during lunch, and as a "snug" at all other
times. Again, this
room is well furnished and has digital television. As a further
point of
interest, all these rooms have particularly large fireplaces.
As mentioned already, the pub has been refurbished and you can
now stay in
one of the five guest rooms. All the rooms have a washbasin, kettle
etc. and
are quite comfortable indeed. Stay for the night and you will find
a Full
English Breakfast waiting for you when you awake! Should you just
wish to
pop in for lunch, there is a well thought out menu which is available
between 12noon and 2pm.
To conclude: A Good Traditional English Pub, Friendly Atmosphere,
Excellent Beer, Great Food and Very Relaxing. It should be noted
that this is not a family pub, and therefore, there a no baby changing
facilities etc. Freemasons Arms tel: 01565-632368
